Dr. Miller offers patients an exciting new development in body contouring. It offers active, healthy individuals an effective, less-invasive form of liposuction that can eliminate stubborn love-handles, saddlebags, and other regions of fat bulging with a fast, easy recovery.
LipoLite actually melts fat cells and the resulting liquid is then removed with small suction cannulas through a tiny incision in the skin. The laser also seals blood vessels as it melts the fat so there is less swelling, bleeding, and bruising than with traditional liposuction. Another advantage of LipoLite is that it also stimulates collagen and tissues to contract, leaving skin looking tightened and toned.
Laser-Assisted liposuction can be used along with traditional liposuction helping to treat small or difficult areas. It can also be used as an isolated procedure to treat small, localized fat deposits and is very effective in refining results after

A good candidate for tumescent liposuction should be healthy and relatively fit, have firm, elastic skin and good muscle tone and be within 30% of their ideal weight. Other criterion include:
- Patients with existing fatty deposits in areas that are not reduced by diet and exercise.
- Patients with certain areas that are out of proportion (such as thighs or hips) to the rest of the body.
- Patients who desire a better overall shape and contour and are within normal weight range.
The areas of unwanted fat are clearly marked by Dr. Miller and tumescent anesthesia is used to numb the treatment area. A tiny incision is then made and a laser fiber is inserted just under the surface of the skin and the unwanted fat is melted away. A suction cannula is then introduced and the melted fat is suctioned out of the body. The tiny incision site is usually left open to heal naturally which facilitates the healing process.
Laser-Assisted liposuction is typically done using tumescent anesthesia with oral sedation to further enhance patient comfort.
Recovering from laser-assisted liposuction has proven to be easier than recovering from traditional liposuction procedures. There is typically less swelling, bruising and soreness when compared with conventional liposuction. Patients go home the day of the procedure and return on post-operative day 1 and 7 for routine checks.
Patients wear compression garments for 1-2 weeks following the procedure and usually can return to work within 3-5 days. Avoiding strenuous activity is recommended for about 2 weeks. Results can be noticed within a week but it may take up to a few months to reveal the final outcome.
